Fall League

Tired of the same old options for fall youth sports? The LAX Farm provides an exciting alternative for boys grades 1-8. The LAX Farm offers Austin a Fall youth lacrosse league structured for the novice or beginning player. Get a jump on the official lacrosse Spring season by playing off season House league Fall ball with The LAX Farm. We offer the introduction to the full lacrosse experience with guidance and instruction. Throughout the season every player will find or enhance their game.

What is a House league? It is a non-competitive league organized to emphasize fun and skill development. House leagues do not replace local youth leagues, they complement them, adding supplemental lacrosse activities for boys during the off season.

Each week LAX Farm league players will be grouped into teams (team composition will vary from week to week), they will attend a practice and learn individual skills and team techniques, and then players will get the chance to apply what they've learned in a game. This model is used in successful northeastern U.S. youth lacrosse programs.

The LAX Farm House League is ideal for families looking to explore lacrosse since it provides a fun environment for boys to learn and play the game. It is ideal also for those wishing to keep their kids engaged in lacrosse year-round. The best part about the LAX Farm's league is its "Everyone plays, everyone plays equal time, and everyone plays all positions" policy. It guarantees kids get exposed to every facet of lacrosse during the season instead of focusing on position specialization.

The season for 2018 will open registration in July.  Teams will meet weekly on Sundays at Brushy Creek Sports Park in Cedar Park (2310 Brushy Creek Road) and teams will practice for one hour, then play a regulation game for one hour. This format is ideal for busy families since it requires only two hours per week, but still provides a healthy activity and team sport exposure for your son.

For boys grades 1-4 we offer a full lacrosse experience from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  Your little guy will get the thrill of experiencing lacrosse as it is meant to be played. No chumash here.

The 5th-8th graders are grouped together weekly for practices. Coaches divide the group into teams and then they play a game. This session last from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The advantage of a house league is its casual atmosphere. Coaches will be on hand during game play enabling players to receive maximum support and instruction without over-coaching. Since practices are immediately before games, it enables players to grasp concepts and then quickly apply them employing a practical exercise approach to learning. If your son has played lacrosse before, this is a great way to enable him to play during the off season and he can refine his mechanics and practice skills he might not practice during the regular season (i.e. no-look shots) all while having fun.

All participants in the LAX Farm's House League will receive a personalized LAX Farm lacrosse jersey they can keep. Numbers will be assigned at random but players are welcome to customize the jersey with their last name or any nickname they would like. This is included in the final cost and if players would like their jerseys personalized then they must sign up before August 24th, 2018.

Players must come equipped with a lacrosse helmet, lacrosse shoulder pads, lacrosse arm pads, lacrosse gloves, a mouth piece and a lacrosse stick.  Have a kid who wants to play but you don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for equipment? Our equipment rental package enables your son to play in a league without the pricey equipment investment known to most youth sports.

To ensure a low coach/player ratio, registration is limited to the first 50 players in each age group.  Once registered and all forms are filled out then your son is ready to get his fall ball on.  From 2011-2017 our Fall League has filled up and we have had players from all over the Austin area.

Still not ready to jump in with the group? We offer private and small group lessons. Write us at info@thelaxfarm.com for rates and more information.  ‚Äč
